Granular starfish Austrofromia schultzei (Clark, A. M. and Rowe, F. W. E. 1971)

Prominent large starfish dark orange, red or burgundy in colour. They are easily seen between the reef fauna. As suggested by the common name the surface of the starfish is raised into little bumps giving the animals a grainy appearance. The arms are gently tapering with a rounded terminal end.
